Singer Songwriters- Michael Turner, Tracy Wittman
Michael Turner
Music has been more than a love of Michael's. It has been a passion. His dad gave him a cheap tape recorder and wrote his first song at the age of nine. At twelve he studied guitar and has been playing the instrument ever since. Along the way he also picked up other instruments and slowly learned how to play drums and keyboard. The twelve string guitar is his main writing tool. You just can't beat that sound. The very first song he can remember listening to was Big Bad John by Jimmy Dean. Michael started playing bar's and clubs at seventeen. He played in various bands for twenty years. He never really did like playing other peoples songs he wanted to play his own. Michael has written or co-written over six hundred songs. They include Rock, Country, Adult contemporary, Christian and World Music. The one thing you cannot do is pinpoint out which his muscial influences were because he listened to everything he could get his hands on. Michael has this gift of being able to hear the song in his head, and then put it on tape. Someone can say something or he can watch TV even read a story and this will inspire him to write songs. One thing Michael never suffers from is writers block. He has a very vivid imagination. He likes to paint a picture or even make a mental video with his music. Michael has recorded many people in his home studio. Michael uses Cubase SX, Sound Forge, Acid Pro and other software for his recording. He has recorded Country artists, Rap and Rock groups. He has written, produced and engineered for many bands. A member of ASCAP. He has helped two local artists get recording contracts on the West coast and in Nasvhille. What he enjoys, is to be in the studio writing and recording with his songwriting partner's Tracy Wittman and Joe Hopkins. The chemistry between these three guys is very unusual to say the least, they always seem to be on the same page when writing and recording. They have many times come up with an idea for a song, wrote the song and recorded up to 30 tracks for the song, also played all the instruments in about a six-hour period. His goal is to get his songs out through No Boundries or other artist. He feels God has truly given him a gift, now he just wants to share it with the world.
